Best Laser Site for Glock 22 Gen 3?

Just a bought a Glock 22 Gen 3 with Nib-X coating and want to add a laser site to it.

I have been trying to read some reviews and I think have it narrowed down to the Laserlyte Rear Site Laser and the LaserMax Guide Rod Laser. Of course the reviews for the LaserMax sound great, but not sure if the $300 price tag is worth it. I have also read great things about the LaserLyte RSL, but wonder about the durability of it. The LaserLyte requires removing the rear site... and wonder if removing and adding a new rear site will mess with the site accuracy? I also like the $115ish price for the LaserLyte... as I will not be using it that often... just for home self-dfense and practice shooting with it once a month or so.

Any opinions? Any other Lasers worth checking out?

LaserLyte $112.75:

LaserMax $301.14:

To satisfy rule #1...

Oh yeah, I freaking LOVE the gun with the Nib-X coating!

Got a great deal on it also!

Crimson Trace is the only way to go. The laser is activated simply by gripping the weapon. Other lasers require you to activate a a button with your support hand, and will be useless under duress. Not to mention, Crimson has some of the best customer service in the industry.

Mind if I ask where you got it? I've been shopping for a Glock 23 in Houston for a while and they're difficult to come by

They come and go on that site. Need and FFL to purchase through though.

SUB - I looked the Crimson Trace. Not sure I want to add anything to the grip. It is already big enough and hard to wrap thumb around to click the clip release button. Also not sure I want it on everytime I shoot or put my hand on the grip.

I wouldn't think it would be that hard to click the button on the either the laserlyte or lasermax? Plus these two will not effect holster size, etc.

I am leaning on the laserlyte, but still $100+ dollars, and want to make sure I am not buying junk.

I also like the fact that those lasers become part of the gun.

Hardly would even know they were there.

I am just a little leary on changing out the factory glock site... and if that would effect accuracy of the rear site... if I didn't put it back on exactly centered, etc.

This is what I have on my 19. Very nice.

You should change out the facory glock sights ASAP, they're terrible.

Go crimson trace for a laser. I would argue a good flashlight, either handheld or weapon mounted, is much more important than a laser and should be your first priority.

Crimson trace for a laser, like riding a bike you will get used to it. And also change out the sights to trijicons or the XS big dots night sights

I know you are only asking about a laser, but I have a Streamlight TLR-2 on my home defense gun and I love it. It is a laser and flashlight combo.

AJC gun shop was selling Glock 23 Gen 4 for around $600 last weekend at the High Caliber show in Conroe. They will be at Reliant this weekend if you want to pick one up. Other booths at the Conroe show were selling the Gen 3 for about the same price and the Gen 4 for $650 or more.

black bear arms, linked above, is where I got mine... for $390.

At the time, the had a bunch of Glock 23s for the same price.

Looks like they sold out, but you can call the guy and see if more are coming in any time soon. Nice guy.

Crimson Trace, If only H&K didn't hate them. I'd like one for my .45

Best? Surefire X400.

Quite possibly outside your price range though, so Crimson Trace.

I've never heard of the LaserLyte and know nothing about it, but just from looking at the pic in that link there's no way I'd put that on my gun. Or any gun.

Of those two I'd definitely go with the LaserMax. They're expensive but in my opinion they're the best way of putting a laser on a Glock. I'm not really into lasers for a variety of reasons, but my dad has the LaserMax on both his G19 and G23 and loves it.

Why are you not into lasers?

I wont be able to pull up the link at work, but search for "Todd Green crimson trace glock" and you should get some good info on the CT unit. It will be far and away the best choice.
