Anywhere in Houston besides Bailey's to get my hands on some? I about crapped my pantalones when I looked at their prices this afternoon. Looks like I need to find alternative sources if they are going to charge $170 for an 8lb keg of powder and $43/k for primers.

So lets hear your places, even some of the online joints you guys use. I know about Midway, Powder Valley, Bruno's and a couple of others already.

The most reloading supplies I've seen in person. You'll probably be able to save money by avoiding the hazardous cargo charges. I don't see their stock of primers and powder on their website, but they've got a decent selection at the actual shop.

I emailed 10ring about pricing and availability. I wish they would at least put that much on their website. I would be upset if I drove an hour plus up there to find out they either didn't have what i need or were out of reasonable on their prices.

Just saw this in the FAQ section of their site:

I don't see powders and primers on your website. Do you sell them?
We do not ship powders and primers. We do sell them at our Houston, TX store front location. We carry Accurate, Alliant, Hodgdon, IMR, VihtaVuori, and Winchester powders. We carry CCI, Cheddite, Federal, Remington, and Winchester primers.

Great timing on this thread. My father wants a reloader for Christmas. He learned a little from my grandfather, but is pretty much new at it.

What is a good first loader? Says he wants a progressive one. Other's are going to buy the loader, I'm going to buy accessories and supplies. What all should I be thinking about for setting up a first timer? Thanks.

BTW, they live off of Jones Rd., so that place will be perfect to recommend for his future supplies.

I would not recommend a progressive for a beginner. Get a RCBS kit, Hornady kit or Lee kit and learn. Expand from there.

In fact, MidwayUSA has a nice Hornady single stage kit on their black Friday sale for about $100 off normal retail. It is a solid price.

10 Ring has a good selection and good prices for a store. If I need something fast or a small amount I'll stop by there. Call them if they don't respond to your e-mail. I switched from buying everything there to online after the last election because they, like everyone else, were short on certain primers for a year or so. I kept ordering online after that because if you shoot enough it's going to be cheaper that way.

I usually order a years supply of powder and primers at a time online to save on Hazmat and shipping. I'll fill up my cart at Wideners, Natchez, Midsouth, Grafs, T&T Reloading, and Powder Valley then total up shipping and Hazmat to see who has the best overall price and what I need in stock.
