Don't bother getting passport photos taken if you have a current TX drivers license and like the photo. You can write on your photo holder card to use your current DL photo.

My CHL instructor informed us about this and it worked just fine. No hassle with photos and the pictures on my DL and CHL are exact matches.

I forgot about that Geronimo....

And the photo on my DL is a MUCH better photo than the ones I submitted with my CHL application.

My wife's was received 11/30, but still no update on the website.

If it's anything like mine, it'll just show up one day as having made it through the process with no incremental update.

While I am not a personal friend of anyone on this board like many I enjoy coming to this forum to read about others experiences with firearms, hunting, camping, the Outdoors, etc. I've seen many other people in the past post here when they've taken their course, mailed in their packet, received their license, etc. so I thought I'd do the same and be accepted by a group of Ags like I have been anytime I've been around Ags in real life even though I myself am not an Aggie.

I'm sorry you were apparently offended by the fact that I started a thread about my excitement to become that much closer to being able to legally carry a firearm like so many others have earned the right to do. Please feel free not to have to click on any threads you see that I have started from this day forward, oh and yes, I'd love an award, which one do you think I'd be eligible for and where can I pick it up....

51 Days mailbox to mailbox. Took 9 days for it to arrive from the time website showed mailed.

Good deal. Now go do the Wally Walk or the Target Trot. Yes it will feel weird carrying the first few times. No, nobody else know you are carrying so no need to get paranoid.

It's been 3 weeks to the day and still no update on the website for the rib's. I'm wondering if it's taking a little longer than normal due to the holidays and end of year.

mailed my renewal on 10/26 and got the license today.

got online to check today...it's in the mail. HELL YES!!!! nice timing Texas DPS, appreciate the christmas gift!!
