Edit to mention that I had my fingerprinting done yesterday. Wish I would have remembered to specify to use my DL picture but I didn't think about it. I guess it doesn't really matter how bad the picture is since there isn't any more reason to display the license than there is to display the firearm....

Got mine in about 30 days. I should add that my application and fingerprints were submitted via interwebs about a week before my class. It was another 3 days till I got everything in the mail. I did not submit photos, but had them use my TX DL pic.

Still working on cash for the carry weapon.
Grumbles about property taxes coming due this month...

Hope it doesn't take as long as mine has.

Mailed in my paperwork and had fingerprints done on 8/23. Took a full 3 weeks until 9/14 for them to show my packet was received and that my background check was pending.

Background check and manufacturing pending was just updated yesterday. So 52 days and counting for me.

Guess mine landed on the wrong person's desk.

From my many hours spent browsing the Texas CHL forum, it seems the average wait time is around 6 weeks, with a common wait of 2 - 3 weeks for the state to acknowledge receiving your packet.

From when the post office said DPS signed for my packet, it took just over two weeks for them to mark it received, about two weeks for the background check, maybe 3 days to manufacture, and another week from when they marked it "mailed" to when I received it.

I'm in the same boat as Geronimo. Mailed my packet in early September and I'm still under review. I'm hoping by the end of this month though.

I got mine yesterday.

It took 9 weeks.

got mine in last friday. took the online service forever to update my info and when they did, i sat on a background check for about a week and after it said "mailed" it took another week to show up at my house.

patience is a virtue my friend.

I just got my new drivers license with updated address, need to get fingerprints done and then I'll be good to send mine in too!

It took about 4 weeks before the website showed any progress or acknowledged receipt of my information. Now, we're waiting on the background check to come back and I should have it. It's been waiting on that for about a week.

This was a while back, but if I remember right, it was 21 days from class to card. However, Mike Cargill turned our packets in directly. There was also a different finger printing process at the time. If you are in Austin, you should inquire about dropping off your packet in person.

Congrats! When I got mine back in 2009, it took over 90 days to process. They seem to be moving much faster these days.

Sounds about right. Once it shows received stuff flies by pretty fast, at least for me

You would think as soon as it hits the office they would be required to post it as received....at the least...

Just checked the website and its now showing up! Background Check shows Pending which is the last step before it gets printed!!! Getting excited!!!

FYI, the steps are Background Check Pending > Background Check - Under Review > Manufacturing Pending > Manufacturing > Mailed.

I was about 3 weeks from "Background Check Pending" to receiving it.

Edit: I left out a step (now bolded). I was about 3 weeks from background check - under review to receiving it. My background check took two weeks, and I waited another week from when they mailed it.

It wouldn't have been a big deal for me to wait, but I was hoping to get it before a trip.

I sent it in on October 16th so it's been 23 days so far. I'm just excited that it is finally showing SOMETHING on the website because it took 3 weeks for it to even show up at all...

Same thing with mine back in August/September. I sent the paperwork in certified/signature required mail, so I knew they received it but nothing was showing up on the website. I forgot about it for about 2 weeks then went back to check randomly one day, and voila! It had progressed to where you're at now. I think it took about another week or so for it to arrive in the mail. All in all, it was probably about +/- 30 days or so.

I'll keep a better track of time when we send in my wife's paperwork in the next week or so.

Actually just purchased my carry weapon a couple Friday's ago.

I honestly forget but about $140 I believe.
