i recently got a springfield M1A, and was reading the zero procedures in the literature that came with it, but have a few questions for those in the know. looking at the front site, it looks like all azimuth moves are made by loosening the front sight post and sliding it left or right, instead of on the M4 where you move the rear sight? i am assuming that the rear sight azimuth adjustment (right hand side)is for windage adjustments, not for zeroing? also, when i move the rear sight all the way down in elevation, which i assume is the battlesight zero position, the adjustment knob (on left side)doesnt read 3, but is somewhere in between 3 and 6. im sorry if this post is confusing, it is sort of hard to explain unless you are familiar with the weapon. thanks for any help with this. mostly curious about the elevation knob on the left side not having the 3 line up with the witness line when the sight is all the way down. is it supposed to line up that way?
