It took me ~five years to reach 20k posts, and another ~five to reach 30K. I guess that just goes to show that I've been working a helluva lot harder than I've been playing for the past ~5yrs or so.
Major benchmarks in the last five years and 10,000 posts:
- Caught my first fish on a fly rod. Brown trout in Colorado.
- Lost my big dog, Shadow. Everyone has "that one dog", Shadow was mine. There will never be another like him.
- I met GunRangeGal for the first time after I offered up my tickets to the LSU game. We weren't *real* friends until I was helping her set up a tailgate, there was a bomb-threat on campus, and my truck got quarantined in the parking garage for the entire afternoon so we drove around and did errands. We've been really good friends ever since.
- Took a job at the company I currently work for, on a leap of faith and the advice of DVM97. It's been a rollercoaster for sure, but it's definitely kept thing interesting.
- Graduated from A&M with my M.S.
- Still flunking out of the M.R.S. degree
- "Finished" the ongoing remodel of my house that I pretty much did solo with occasional borrowed muscle (and tools/equipment from the Dubis).
- Took my first wall-hanger deer thanks to DVM97.
- Got the perpetual dater GunRangeGal married.
- New ventures are on the horizon, but I'll have to tell yall about those later.
Here's to spending more time outdoors and less posting here. Cheers y'all.
