My live oak suddenly looks like a holly bush. The berries appear to be some sort of insect egg. Ideas on what I've got and what, if anything, I need to do to eradicate the insect?

Yep... probably galls. This question came up a few months ago.
If I remember.... there's not much you can about them, and they generally don't harm the tree any.

Yep -- that's what they look like.
This may be a stupid question, but will wasps hatch out of them or is it just where they stung the tree?

Some kind of wasp will usually hatch out. These are parasitic wasps parasitising either other insects already in the tree or cells in the tree.
