It's my carry pistol. Was fishing out on my farm pond yesterday and casted my spinnerbait on my favorite bass rod and the handle broke, with the rest of the rod including my new curado going in the lake. I launched myself into the lake after it as it sank, and got it. Then I realized I was wearing my pistol. Disassembled and cleaned and oiled, back in business.

Its a Glock... no worries.

Edit. Stupid spell check changes Glock to "Flock".

Have you not seen some of the torture tests people put Glocks through? Pretty sure you have nothing to worry about.

I was thinking you dunked your gun similar to a ring dunk and the thought BLEW MY MIND

You could have shot it without drying it out and it would have worked fine. It's a Glock.

Not a Glock owner or really a fan, but a little water is not going to hurt them at all.

Hell, about the only thing you can't dunk them in is lava. I think lava would render even a Glock inoperable. Anything else? You are pretty much good to go.

I've shot my Glock 17 underwater a few times, the deepest maybe 3 feet. the last time, the gun spent the weekend in a shallow pool. I've also torture tested it in mud. if you get chunky mud in the action it WILL freeze up on you.

this particular 17 was stolen from my truck 18 months ago but I can't remember ever cleaning it or even letting it properly dry out.

stainless steel and plastic don't need much attention to last a long time.

Not that it isn't cool to shoot a Glock (or any gun) under water, but other than saying "I can shoot my gun under water" it doesn't really accomplish anything. How far does the bullet go? Two or three feet before it falls to the bottom of the pool? Pretty useless for a self defense situation. I think it knife is a MUCH more effective weapon under water than a gun is.

Glock claims that their rigs are good to 5 feet.

I'm not a physics professor but my bones from my belly button down (everything underwater) felt the sharp crack as I pulled the trigger. ...it didn't feel good. also, we were in a lake. I don't advise shooting guns in a swimming pool.

I'd be more concerned about your Crimson Trace than the Glock. Any gun will work after it gets wet as long as you remove all the water before corrosion sets in. Although I think most Crimson Trace systems are waterproof, it would definitely break if water got in it.
