SO I'm thinking of ordering a ton of these as a group buy--$9 each delivered.

Basically, you put this lid on any $3 home depot 5 gallon bucket and turn it into a 5 gallon air tight, water tight ammo or food storage container. You can open and close the lid by screwing out the center piece.

I can fit about 50 boxes of .223 ammo in one of these--probably a ton more out of the box.

So you get 5 gallons of storage for $12 vs an equivalent 3-5 ammo cans at $10 each.

Why don't you save your self a bunch of money and go to a paint store(Sherwin Williams or any) and see if they have any left over 5 gal bucket lids? Or ask a someone who paints.
They are air tight and seal the paint in for storage. They may need a little cleaning. I use them, but I get them from work. After a house is painted I take the lids I want and clean them up. Hope this helps.

I'm pretty I read on one of the SHTF books that you are not supposed to use non-foodgrade buckets and lids especially from chemicals & paint because stuff from what was originally stored in them could leech into your food.

But for ammo and other non consumables this would be fine.

The problem with regular paint lids is that they're hard to access. With these, you and open and close the containers any time as often as you'd like.

These can be used for long term or short term storage. The main reason for using these is because they are food safe, air tight, water tight, and easy access.
