I don't reload, but have a question .

Is it possible to load up some of those 220 grain bullets from 300aac into a 7.62x39 load for a newer model mini 30?

this sounds good for hog/elf busting

Bullet diameter of the 7.62 x 39 is .312" and diameter of the 300 AAC is .308"

Google this: subsonic 7.63x39

Take a look at the first three hits.

the Mini 30's have a .308" barrel, meant for domestically produced 7.62x39 with .308 bullets. you can always swage the barrel with a lead ball to get the real diameter of the barrel, then you'll know exactly what bullets you can run. They also make "303" british, and "7.7" arisaka bullets with heavier weights that measure .311"-.312"
