Don't know about them, but if you're gonna spend that much, I'd look at these guys...

If I get an expensive pit, I'm going there...

Those are all the rage at the BBQ competitions. Take a look at the backwoods as well. Same concept but a little different.

+1 on Gator Pits.

The pitmaker pits. They are winning a lot of money right now. Very consistent heat and easy to control.

Ive looked at many of the others. This is the highest quality with best features imo. Was hoping to find someone who had one to see if they last.

I recently bought a pitmaker sniper. I shopped them all but one visit to their shop sold me. Nothing wrong with gatorpits. Rich makes a damn good product, but I wanted a modular trailer to add and expand in the future. The safe/vault is head and shoulders above Backwoods. Pitmaker is making quite a name for themselves, for good reason.

Gatorpit offers the Rebel that is a fully insulated vertical; better than a backwoods but not as swanky as a safe or vault.

I pulled the trigger on this. Highest quality pit ive ever seen.

Saw some pics of a couple aggie set ups, one a pretty slick tailgating trailer with flatscreen.

And they were finishing up one with an airbrushing of Clint from the good, bad, ugly being sent to a texan in norway. Will post when i get it off the phone.

i'm getting the "Safe", but in green, no cart. Will build it in / set-it behind a fireplace with counter.

if you haven't seen these, the firebox is sealed from the cooking chamber. smoke goes up the back, into the chamber from the top-back, down into the chamber, and then through two troughs on either side (entry near the bottom), up through the smokestack.

even with the fire right below the chamber they claim once it's sealed the top and bottom of the chamber reach a few degrees equilibrium within 30 minutes.

Thanks for posting this OP! Just pulled the trigger on one of these yesterday. One visit to their shop and I was sold. Ordered in black with a cart but will transfer it to an outdoor kitchen soon. Went back and forth on the either the safe ior the vault, but in the end couldn't justify the extra cooking space.

Jacked up about getting this thing home. Another cool selling feature: the pitmaker folks will put on a clinic to show you how it works.

Very impressed with the product.

The brothers make some very nice pits. They are also pretty good BBQ cooks!

Nice as can be I believe they actually used to work for Pits and Spits.

Oh and invest in a BBQ Guru or Stoker system!

Yep. Sounds like they did and old fashion lift-out and started their own company. 5 week back log right now even with a nice sized crew.

They seemed to have thought of every detail on their smokers. Pricey but no feature is left out.

Our Company bought us one to use and we love it. it cooks great. The vault is incredible.

I picked mine up Tuesday, but just sitting in my garage since the construction is so far behind.

Turns out a friend of my dad's in Lockhart had just spent his small inheritance on a full trailer system from them. Went and saw it last weekend so now I have something to daydream about for the future

Didn't have time to look around much on the website. What is the valve for on the lower 1/3 of the smoker?

Congrats on your purchase.

That valve is a grease drain.

Everything about this smoker is heavy duty and built to last...
