Going dove hunting this weekend with the father-in-law. I have heard mixed opinions from people... do i need camo pants or just jeans?

Doesn't matter, just find a good cover

Ive done it it jeans, shorts, or camo pants. Not sure it really matters unless you are sitting exposed in the middle of a cut field, then go camo

The way I see it, I have all this camo that I don't wear except between September and February. Go camo!

If your jeans are the right color of blue the dove might think you are water and you will be covered up with birds.

I wear a camo vest and blue jeans, not that what I do really matters. If I could shoot half decent, I would limit out...oh well.

Jeans and a t-shirt have always worked for me (just not white t-shirt.)

I don't see the need to get "camoed" up for doves. They are going to fly over you anyway.

If you are going to be up and moving around, jeans - because dove detect movement over patterns.

If you are going to be sitting in cover, camo.

At least this is what I've read.

Capris. I don't think it matters. They're just dove. And I don't think your FIL will care either way.

Thanks. FIL wears jeans, but my step-dad hunts as well and he said camo. Hence the various opinions. Jeans'll do me.

Bullets for dove? Now that's an interesting concept.

Use bullets only while they are drinking from a stream.

shorts have worked fine for me, and much more comfortable. Definitely with 2 mojos

I wear ACU camo...or jeans, depending on the part of the season.

Opening day, im decked out. By this time, Im in jeans and a t-shirt.

Blood on jeans vs blood on camo pants.....depends, but my bird pants always wind up getting filthy and i'd rather sacrifice them vs. a decent pair of jeans.

Ha this describes me perfectly. I started the season decked out in full camo and vest, hiding out in cover a good ways from the truck. Now, I'm in khaki cargo shorts and a camo t shirt in a comfortable chair right next to the tailgate of my white pickup. Shot just as many birds this way, too. Just last week, I had just put my Mojo out about 30' from the truck. I had my tailgate down and my shotgun loaded and was working on opening my beer and getting it into a koozie when a bird landed right next to my Mojo, just oblivious to me. I spilled my beer getting to my shotgun, spinning and getting my kill shot off. Kind of pissed I essentially traded an ice cold brew for 1 dove.

In short, full camo... not necessary.

I don't think it matters what you wear (as long as it's not white), just keep movements to a minimum. The movement is what spooks them.

Birds have excellent eyesight and can see more colors than we can.

It's just a matter if if they CARE about the colors they see, or if they have time to.

In dove hunting, probably not. Wouldn't work well with waterbirds, though.
