I've been looking at some options for freeze dried food that you can store in some quantity, that has variety and doesn't taste like crap. I got a free sample from one group (supposed to be pasta al fredo) and it was awful. Anybody know of some brands that actually taste good?

Mountain House
That's what I provide to clients on my trips. Never gotten any complaints. There's dozens of different meals and they all taste great. The Jamaican Chicken is the only one I've found that was bland, the rest are good.

MH is about all I use anymore, but I've also used Backpacker's Pantry meals, and they are about as good.

Another vote for Mountain House.
Mountain House is pretty good. (The one's with eggs though, not so much.)
Mountain House and Backpackers Pantry are probably the most common, and easiest to find. I've used and really enjoyed Packit Gourmet.

Knors products in the grocery store are pretty good for potatoes and rice, also chicken.
Just bought a few Mountain House entrees to try. Will post my response after I eat them.
