Do any of you all know much about Medina lake and if it has much fishing right no? We have been invited up there for the july 4 weekend and I was wanting to take our boat to fish and play with the kids.

What kind of fishing is good there?

Clear, rocky, and deep.

The lake is several dozen feet below pool level, currently.

There will be lots of boat traffic July 4 weekend. Your best bet may be to fish at night.

If you have access to a boat or pier, try fishing under the lights for whites, hybrids, and crappie.

For awhile the Texas record largemouth was from Lake Medina. Apparently, is used to be a playground for the upper crust of San Antonio back in the 1950-60's.

Bring your 4 wheel drive if you want to get off the boat ramp. I almost ended up in the water 2 weeks ago because the lake's so far down and the ramps are super steep.
