I saw this over the weekend while I was at Lowe's getting stuff for my new vegetable garden. Looks pretty cool (I've been wanting one of these). If I had the money in my budget I'd pick this up. I'm not sure if it is a good deal or not though. I know these things are usually pretty high. Being a single axle trailer would probably make it ride real rough right?

What are your thoughts on this Lowe's smoker trailer?

Off topic, new veggie garden...

Looks okay but the price seems pretty high to me. You can get a well built Oklahoma Joe's smoker from Academy for $500 and a trailer to haul it on from Northern tool for $700.

I think that price is high.

hard to tell without seeing insides and quality/thickness of materials.

With a lot of well made shelves inside it could be approaching that value, but odds are that they didn't deck the inside out.

you can get a much better smoker for about the same...that smoker is very cheaply built.

I thought this was going to be a thread about the hot chick at the checkout counter

I paid $1800 for this and it holds around 35 boston butts and it has a storage section on the back side with a fold down lid that is the length of the trailer and about 24 inches wide.

This is an old picture of the trailer I have to show its dimensions.

This is a newer pic that shows the wood surface and the new toolbox attached to the front of the pit.

I have this guy, single axle, absolutely loaded with weight, and never had a problem with shake or wobble. I've seen the smoker your referring to in person, and IMO you can get a better one for about the same money and put it on a trailer yourself.

I agree with Jeff I have seen this cooker also and it's ok but you can get more for $$ and a better setup.

Was talking to a guy who has a buddy that makes smokers out of old propane tanks and said the reason his work so well is the smoke stack attaches to the bottom of the tank so the smoke keeps the tank completely filled before it can escape.

I think the guy is out of Mount Pleasant. I'll see if I can get some contact info if you are interested.

Take that 2 grand to the local high school ag teacher. See what he can come up with for that kind of money.

Get a look at his past projects before you commit.
