Forsale - 5.56 ammo...

I am closing the deal to sell my 5.56/.223 carbine today.

Anyway, I have 3 boxes of brand new Hornady .223 TAP 55gr ammo.

TAP ammo is usually what people keep in their .223/5.56 rifles for self defense or hunting...

Two boxes are in the original box. The other 20 rounds are loose (I don't have the box anymore, but they are about 1 month old and were just loaded in 1 mag for like 2 weeks). These are typically $23 a box.

And, I have three NEW 20 round boxes of WWB 5.56 ammo ($10 a box x 3).

So, 60 rounds of WWB 5.56 FMJ and 6 rounds of TAP .223

This is $100 of ammo if bought at the store.

All the ammo has been stored indoors in an a/c environment.

I will sell for $50 with local pickup in the Bryan/College Station area.

Please e-mail me at: goldfishpanda@hotmail.com

Seems crazy that the guy that bought the gun wouldn't have jumped on the ammo too. Something is fishy. But at least Texags sells stuff.

Why did you decide to go with 2 of the other guns and sell the one you did? I can understand wanting twins, but why that one and not this one?

Not sure what you mean as to "fishy."

The guy who bought the gun (MSAR) originally just wanted the gun and mags. We worked out a deal for the eotch and the gun and mags. So, he claimed he was stretched on cash as it was, and couldn't swing another $50. As he stated something about already having an AR, I figure he already had enough ammo.

So, I put the ammo up separately, locally. Hoping I could work something out here in town without having to drive 1/2 way to Houston or something for just $50.

As for your other question - I don't know what you mean about that either. I only had one MSAR. I've never owned 2 MSArs.... I also have a PS90 carbine. I decided to sell the MSAR and get a 2nd PS90 and configure it differently than the one I already have. I really like the PS90 platform.

That's why I was selling the MSAR, to have the $ for a second PS90

I had read the other tread about you wanting to sell the MSAR to get the money for the second PS90. Question is what makes the PS90 more attractive to you than the MSAR? Why not two MSARs and no PS90? I don't have any experience with either one. My question was aimed at trying to figure out which one I should buy first when the time came around.

I was seriously considering your MSAR, but since you wanted a second PS90 instead of the MSAR, I figured I would wait and make sure which I really wanted (pros/cons/etc of each) before buying either.

Regarding the fishy comment - I just meant that I was shocked the guy that bought everything else didn't buy the ammo as well. Perhaps he did already have a lot of it, but even then, you really can't ever have too much ammo, can you?

It probably was just that he didn't have that much cash on him, or that he didn't want to buy the ammo after possibly trying to negotiate a lower price on the Eotech by saying that is all the money he had, but then turn around and spend another $50 on ammo from you.

If it were me buying something, and I dropped over $1300 on a rig, I would do everything I could to buy ammo at 50 cents on the dollar to shoot through it.

I didn't mean anything at all about the way you sold it being "fishy". Your selling process makes sense to me. Moreso that the buyer just didn't make sense to me. If anyone is spending so much that they don't have another $50 to buy a real deal, perhaps they shouldn't make that purchase. Although millions of people operate just this way, hence the total downfall of the housing market (people taking out ARMs to increase buying power without being able to pay for it due to excessive leverage).

In thinking about it, it might have been a law enforcement buyer, who has access to plenty of plinking and SD ammo via work, which would make sense as a reason not to buy your stuff, but otherwise, the buyer's action just seem strange to me.

Milkman, I have had my PS90 for 4 years now. I have a lot of gear and stuff for it, and it's probably my fav rifle platform. One can argue about the ballistics all day long, but I am satisfied with it.

Admittedly, the MSAR shot a more powerful bullet, but I like the 5.7 round. I can also count on 1 hand the number of complaints I've seen online about reliability problems and the PS90 in the 4 years I've had the gun.

The ergonomics of the gun is also very nice, and I like the 50 round mags. I have a mag clamp on mine, so I actually have two 50 rounders hook together.

My current one has an EOtech on it, along with a Unimax laser and a light. I wanted to set up a 2nd one with a non powered optic.

Neither is really "better." Its just personal preference. I have an online friend who had 3 r 4 PS90s - he changed to the MSAR. He now has 5 or 6 MSARs all set up identically with the same accessories. It's just preference. For me, I like the PS90 better.

The ease of disassembly for the PS90 is also much better. The gun breaks down into just 5 or 6 parts. Use a boresnake and you are done. The MSAR isn't as complicated as an AR with all the parts. But it is 1970's technology (the PS90 is 1990s tech), so it's a bit more complex to disassemble and clean.
