Here is a verified 48.8 lbs bobcat out of Marinette County, WI. in 1984.

You should have posted the pic to see what the weight guess's would be. That thing has to have 2-3" of hair on it.

Based on the pics here, the one I took a shot at was not 50lbs. But it did not look like them. It was much darker and had huge tassels. It was late spring of 96. It looked like this with a darker coat:

You can get some darker bobcats, and when they are transitioning between pelts they may appear to have larger tassels. But the closest that lynx get to Texas is Colorado, and they don't have that many. Lynx lynx is in no way native to Texas.
