I am wanting to buy a deep freezer for my garage to store meat and other various goods. I have heard from several people that it is possible to negotiate on new appliances? I tried at one place but the guy wouldn't budge one percent. I heard if you go in with the cash they are more likely to play ball. I was curious if anybody else has had any experiences with this type of thing.

If the dude won't budge, ask to speak to a manager. I even got Best Buy to come down on a TV 15% for my parents.

We always get at least 10% off the listed price for appliances at the Lowe's in Bryan. No need to pay cash.

^^^ the 10% with free delivery is what we have done in the past...20% is good to do at the end of the year or on items they are REALLY needing to move

This is good to know- I'm looking at replacing kitchen appliances. I would imagine that if I'm buying 3 large appliances they would be willing to negotiate a little in order to land a $2000 sale or so.

Also, ask them if they have any damaged ones. Sometimes, when unpacking or in transport, they will get little dings and scratches on them. These are reduced very nicely, and most times, you can't even see the scratch where you place them.

My best luck has been when I got Home Depot and Lowes to bid against each other.

Stop by the post office and ask for a relocation package. It's got coupons to both Best Buy and Lowes for 10 percent off. Home Depot honors the Lowes coupon if that's where you end up.

After all the haggling is done, slap it on the checkout counter & profit.

At Home Depot we were able to get the model above the one we were looking at in a LG washer and dryer. We ended up saving around $300 and of course they have free installation and delivery.

most things are negotiable. I got 1000 knocked off a tv at best buy once, but you have to talk to a manager. floor guys won't be any help, they will just tell you that you can't do that. print out prices online that are cheaper and take them with you. explain that you can get it cheaper elsewhere but prefer to get it local and at a b&m store. tell them you don't mind paying a little more than the cheaper online sites, but cant' justify paying full retail price. if they say no... walk.

Step 1: Find the exact model you want.
Step 2: Find that exact model at Buddy's applicance if in CS or another store. Get a quote written on a slip with their information.
Step 3: Take that quote to Lowe's and they should give you 10 percent off of that product.

I did this successfully with a refridgerator.
