We live about 400 miles from this fun filled destination. Are they going to be able to clean it up this season? We are supposed to go to the Lazy L & L on July 10th.

Yea, I just got a Facebook message from the girl that is doing all of the organizing with a website on it. I have never been, so I was asking the OB for some knowledge.

From second crossing up to the lake is open, or will be open by this weekend.

We were able to float the horseshoe this past weekend. It was packed because it was the only stretch of river open, but they are cleaning it up fast.

What happened? We were there a couple weeks ago and went on a 5 hour float... everything was fine.

Not sure where L&L is, but depending on its location, it may not be there anymore. As long as yall have a place to stay, you will be able to float at least north of town.

11" of rain in a couple of hours just south of Canyon Lake. Most of the river outfitters south of the second crossing were wiped out.

Most of the river activity is from the horseshoe in Sattler, down to the 4th crossing. River is still closed from 2nd crossing down. You cannot drive from New Braunfels upstream to Sattler on River Road, as there are deputies posted along the road, turning back anyone who doesn't live or work along the road but you can access the road from Sattler, going downstream.

Flows are nice and the goal for the local businesses is to be back up and running in time for the July 4 holiday.

L&L is way up past the 3rd crossing, on Devils bend or some such. You should be fine, plus that is a nice section of river to be on. One of the better if not the best camp grounds.

Regarding Lazy L&L, I couldn't agree with you more. We have stayed there the last 2 summers and have been very satisfied. Nice stretch of the river they put you on.

Aggie Mike- That's the stretch of river I fish during the winter, right behind Lazy L&L. Holds the trout.

From Comal County & Army CORP this afternoon. Low flows this weekend, short distances will make for long floats.

quote:
River Road will be opened fully tomorrow
(Thursday) at 12:00 noon. At this time, the Guadalupe River is still closed
downriver of Bezdek's rentals.

Also, the outflow from Canyon Dam will be decreased beginning Friday evening
to approx. 150 cfs to assist in cleanup efforts. The flows will be
re-evaluated on Monday.

June 8-9th. The storm sat between Canyon Lake & New Braunfels all afternoon on the 8th through early on the morning of the 9th. I was impressive to see that much rain and what it could do.

There are 6 recreation lakes below NB, including Dunlap & McQueeney, that are closed to recreational traffic until Aug 1 because of debris. Also heard one report about the sewer plan in NB overflowing but haven't been able to confirm that

The river below the lake was not really affected for about the first 6 miles or so from the dam, or about 1 mile downstream of Rio Raft at 4th crossing. The worst didn't come in until about 9 miles below the dam, which is where Bear Creek flows into the Guadalupe. This is the creek that flows in across the river from Lazy L&L

The river is safe to float from the dam down to just above 2nd crossing now and things should be back to normal around by July 4.

That is a bus andtrailer, wrapped around trees.

The sewage plant in Gruene was damaged, but was fixed and running by Tuesday. They are opening river road today and hope to have both rivers open within city limits by June 26th. (this was according to the local paper)

dang...i missed a lot when i left town.

i was on a trip with 26 students/parents and we were running from about 7a until midnight everyday, so i did not see any news while gone.

i get back and find out nebraska and colorado left the big 12, a&m and texas considered and now a flood in NB.

i dont think i'll be out of touch for a week again...
