Howdy!

Starting to plan a June river trip and needing some info on primitive camping facilities. Need basic tent camping location but with some ammenties (showers, ****ters, etc) for the girls.

Looking around the Guad/Comal river or at Blue Hole, preferably as close to the river as possible to avoid excessive driving.

This is where I am camping Father's Day weekend. Taking my bride and 11 year old daughter. we are gonna go to Schlitterbaun friday. Gruene on saturday. If you like Gruene, go on the 3rd weekend of the month. That is when they have their "trade days" weekend. Enjoy!

I stayed here last memorial day with a mixed group (guys and girls). They have showers and bathrooms. Also have a shuttle to take you up river and you can float back to camp.

Mountain Breeze is a little uptight on bringing your own tubes. Don't really like that.

Most companies want you to use their gear or charge a fee for bringing private gear in. The bulk of their income comes from renting toobs, rafts, etc. All of the locations mentioned above are on River Road on the Guad and all have basic campground facilities. If you go with L&L, see if they have sites @ L&L #2, which is upstream of the office, closer to the Little Ponderosa bridge.
