Anybody used it to boil crawfish? What are your thoughts? Does it say how much to use for a 40 lb bag of crawfish?

I have seen it as a seasoning set out on the table at restaurants but have never boiled in it. It was very tasty as a seasoning though. It has a little more zip than tony chacheres.

We did shrimp in it this weekend and would definitely use it again

I'm thinking about ordering it online for our boil on April 25th, but am not sure how much to get. Our local H-E-B is sold out of it. We are getting 300# of crawfish. Do either of y'all have any left? Does it say roughly how much to use?

I bought mine at Chunky Monkey's in Seadrift and left it there for next time. I was too drunk by the time we boiled the shrimp to read the directions much less measure so I just dumped until it looked right.

I dump enough seasoning into my pot of boiling water to make me cough and gag... then I add some more. When the bugs are done, I dump that batch into a cooler, toss on more seasoning and leave the lid closed for 10 mins or so.

I always use Slap Ya Mama when I boil seafood. Great stuff, they know how to do it down in Evangaline Parish where the stuff is made. I buy it at Rose's Seafood in Seabrook, TX. I think the 3 pound bag would do fine for a sack of bugs.

Good to know Rose's carries it. That's where I'm getting my mud bugs from.

We've used the SYM as well as Swamp Dust, which is very good as well.

Swamp Fire.....all you need

Tony is good after they are cooked...

I start with Swamp Fire liquid boil, then mix SYM and Swamp Dust. I continue adding the SYM/Swamp Dust mix to each batch, and then "dust" them in a cooler before serving.

For the Houston crowd, Blue Water on 1960 is selling some really good size crawfish for this early in the season. The bad news = $2.99 lb (Easter weekend).

I have never done a shrimp/mudbug boil (turning in man card).

Anybody got a good recipe...scaled for anywhere from 2 - 20 people?

Tried swamp dust for the first time last weekend. Only thing I have to say about it is go above whats recommend on the amount. Flavor was good though.

If Im buying the seasoning it is zatairains probowl or Louisiana Brand.

Had some last night. I was not all that happy with the size, but had heard earlier this year that the weather put a hurting on them this year. We use Nate's turbo crawfish seasoning.
