I know the outdoor board is going to love this.

Taurus introduced the new polymer framed Judge.

Also you get the "Raging Judge Magnum"

The "Raging Judge Magnum Ultra-lite"

That's not all, you also get the "Circuit Judge" revolver carbine.

Trying to find out if Mark Larue put a pile of broken A.R.M.S. mounts at his booth, but no joy so far on that intel. I heard thru the grapevine that ARMS threatened to sue him if he did and he backed down, but who knows.

Seriously though I'm most excited about all the new 1.1-8x scopes coming out. The Premier and Leupold CQBSS seem to have good illumination at low power and a more fine reticle you can use at distance. My squadmate was demoing the Leupold at Ft. Benning so I got to see the prototype there. Problem with current scopes is having to use the same reticle at close and long ranges meaning it's not going to be ideal for one of them. These seem to have a red dot at low power, then crosshairs that become visible and the dot goes out when you turn up the zoom.

Also the LaRue OBR Lite. At first I wasn't that excited, but I've been looking for a lightweight handguard that was comfortable to hold and also able to mount bipods, slings, and lights to. The current quad rails and my carbon fiber fore end can't do all of that easily. Have also heard some more about the specifics from a friend that visited the factory a few weeks ago that make it sound like more than just another AR upper.

S&W's Bodyguard .380 looks to be a lot more comfortable than a Kel-tec or LCP. Some suppressors and magazine fed shotguns have also interested me.

lexofer- the lowest MSRP I have heard for the Leupold CQBSS has been $2800, with a dealer cost much much lower. Have you heard anything different? Any news on the 1.1-8 S&B short dot?

The S&B is the third one I'm watching, but haven't heard too much about it. That pricing is in line with what I've heard, so I'm hoping to win one. Have seen several nice Leupold and Premier scopes on the prize tables at matches this year. I missed getting a $2k Premier scope a few months ago by one place.

Larue did not have the pile. From what I heard, they didn't have room for it, but who knows.

In other news, Bushmaster cluster effed the ACR by pricing it at $2700 and giving it a 1:9 barrel. Morons.

I'm reading that this morning, too.

Other news, Hornady launched their 6.5 Grendel brass and ammo. Should be a nice option, although prices are still on par with AA ammo and AA/Lapua brass. Not a real bargain brass out there yet.

Looks like Leupold is going to launch a new CQ combat sight (CQBSS) 1.1-8 x 26 built on a 34mm tube. It has an illuminated red dot for CQC. Price is rumored to be in the $2600 range, which is completely stupid IMHO. How can this scope be twice as good as a Swarovski, US Optics, Trijicon, or Nightforce? No way, Jose. They're pricing themselves out of the game.

Colt continues to stay about 15 years behind the curve, as usual, and finally is abandoning the duckbill beavertail and going with a full beavertail on some of its pistols. They still don't look as good as an Ed Brown BT. Too fat and not high enough.

Leupold is known for being overpriced on their upper end stuff. This is flat out ridiculous, though.

I may have to get one of those Raging Judge Magnums for my next skeet gun. That would be a blast on a skeet range.

I was there from Tuesday-Friday. It was crazy as hell.
I landed 3 super sponsors for our show Majesty Outdoors.

REALTREE, NIKON and SAVAGE ARMS.

Savage has a new owner and is doing some great, great things. New "Accu-Trigger", cool stocks and barrel types and is extremely committed to bring that company to the top. They also own BowTec!

Question, would the Raging Judge Magnum or Circuit Judge Carbine make good self defense weapons?

Depends on who you ask. I say yes, it would make a great self defense gun. You will get some of the physics experts here that say that a shotgun is not a good self defense gun, but they just haven't shot enough shotguns to know different.

Let the games begin!

That seems to be their trend... suing for ridiculous reasons. I assume you had heard that Larue would trade a broken ARMS mount for a brand new larue, right? I think he was even encouraging people to break them on purpose.

Browning released the wood version of their new autoloader, the Maxus. I think it's pretty sharp looking.

Didn't see that one Murphy, but had read a previous one just asking for broken mounts. Then later on I think that idea came up.
