Same set up in a field I hunt. Double wire across the field; one on top; one on bottom. Took my baitcaster with a weight; threw it over top wire; lowered it to ground and tied on a decoy; raised it above bottom wire; lowered to wire and layed rod down. It's neat watching the dove slam on the brakes to come back to the decoy.
Trick is to get them well before the wire or after they spook. Wire shots are unethical, dangerous, and could probably result in outraged ranchers.
