Anyone ever heard of anything about feeding monkey food for killing coons? Sounded pretty darn strange to me. A guy at a local feed store told a buddy about it and said they sell it. I am curious about this.

We have been using have a heart traps in our protein pens baited with corn and catfish food for the lase couple of weeks. Seems to work well after tge single shot .22 is administered to the dome. They seem to fall right out in a location of your choosing.

I have heard about the monkey food, but personnally have not tried it.

I usually use a can of catfood laced with "things" and placed firmly up in nearby trees.

I would like to know anout the monkey food.

Protein feed at $10 a bag.......I don't like to feed coons.

Know some folks that swear by the monkey food in McMullen County. Local feed store in Tilden sells it for that purpose.

Other than trapping them, or .22 lawn chair and spotlight, I don't know. If you figure out how, let me know. I hate feeding those little thieving bastages too.

The method i described works flawlessly. All traps full all coons dead.

Golden Marlin fly bait. You can find it at most feed stores. Raccoons love the stuff. Be very careful however. The stuff is potent. Most of the coons I've "heard" about that eat the stuff don't make it out of a 100 foot vicinity. If there are pets around that you are worried about I would probably try something else.

We've tried trapping before, but there are smart coons and dumb coons. You clean out the dumb ones with traps the first few nights. The smart ones can take weeks to finally catch in a trap.

On a side note, you would be surprised how many coons there actually are depending on how many you see at a given time. We would see 5 to 10 a night when our neighbors used to feed them on their front porch. We got rid of nearly 2 dozen and still didn't get them all. I figure for every coon you see there are 2 more that come at a different time.

Since rule number 1 has not been met yet, here is a picture of some of my coons.

We are seei g a lot less of that crap since we started trapping and blasting. Weve put a serious dent in the pop but i think for every one there are five more.

I received this deadly looking blowgun as a gift and have been dying to try it out on small living things.

Near Jefferson. I may try to trap them next trip that we spend the night, but I only have access to maybe 2 traps. We'll see what happens.

Trapped 27 just this year at our place in Nac County. Little buggers eat every vegatable and every fruit.

Don't forget, if this is not a year around endeavour, it can come back to royally bite you in the rear.

Monkey Chow is an Urban Legend. Absolutely nothing nutritionally in that product that would kill a coon!

Only foolproof ways have already been addressed. That Golden Malrin is very effective.....but so is tuna cans and antifreeze!

I sprinkle the Golden Malrin on cat food or mix it in with hamburger for coons and coyotes.

Is this how you mix yours?

Ag97 knows what works, we use the Golden Mandrin Fly bait mixed with a little sprite in a little plastic bowl, we have one at every protein feeder, most coons barely make it out of the pen. It doesnt take much and its relatively cheap.

Just an FYI, since this is an off label use of the product, I would not be admitting to this. That's all I will say about that.

*I had a buddy lose two dogs in a matter of a couple minutes because his dogs tagged the coyote bait faster than he could grab them.

You can pick up some of that "Monkey Food" while you're out snipe hunting.
