Canyon, we were also in a 17-foot Uhaul. I have driven a truck all my life (my sister in law never) and even I didn't want to use anything less than an interstate in that bumpy-ass ride. Secondly, I didn't really have a vote anyways

I now officially hate Uhauls. And ferrets.

We've decided we need to start a luxury Uhaul business for cross-country trips. More cubbyholes and places to keep stuff, four doors so you can have a backseat, a cd player, built-in GPS, iPod input, tinted windows, power windows & locks. I could go on!

That's a great drive. Used to live in Trinidad, Co., north of Raton and over the pass. If you are in Trinidad and need to eat, look up Lee's BBQ for their chili burger; a two meat open faced burger buried under a pile of fries, drowned in green chili (New Mexico style), and a cherry Dr. Pepper. Bob & Earls also has really good chili burgers, but Lee's claims to have invented them in the 20's or 30's.
