I have owned several pairs of Redwings and I have worn them until they literally fell apart. Simply the best steel toed boots in my opinion

After wearing Justin, Wolverine (soles wear out too fast), some no brand cheap boot, and Redwings, I will NEVER own another boot other than Redwings. If you take care of them, clean them every now & then, and oil 'em up pretty good, they just don't wear out. Extremely comfortable boots.

I am on my second pair of the Red Wing Pecos / 4470’s in about 4 yrs—greatness. The Pecos had the clear sole, I am a big guy and usually wear the soles out quick but the clear sole worked out awesome, the 4470’s are supposed to be the equivalent, so only time will tell. I did learn that the cheaper boots (even some Red Wings, <$125) are usually made with air blown soles; they are lighter, but will wear much quicker.

I do recommend going to a RW store as well, boots are people specific. The only complaint I have for my 4470’s is that the boots are about 4 months old and still leave my socks brown! Not sure how to fix that yet.
