LG TV issues

I bought an LG C5 earlier this year and I'm not gonna lie, at this point I have huge buyers remorse. The software is absolutely horrendous.

That said, I'm having issues with the HDMI. It works just fine as long as I'm not logged into my LG account. As soon as I log into my account, the HDMI input disappears and I can no longer access anything from the HDMI input. Log out, and it comes right back.

Gas anyone had this issue and found a solution? I reached out to LG and they just gave me the standard "check the cables" crap. There's clearly nothing wrong with the cables as it works just fine as soon as I log out. But being logged out drastically limits what I can do on the tv.

Super frustrated and at this point, seriously regretting leaving Samsung. The better picture has not been worth it.

C1 owner here with zero issues after 5 years.

Call LG, customer support is pretty good from what I have read.

We've seen this one. On the newer LG TVs, each LG account login gets its own home screen and input list, so HDMI isn't gone, it's just hidden on that profile. Signed in, hit Home, edit the input/home list, and add the HDMI port back. If it still doesn't show, check for a firmware update and do a full power cycle by unplugging the TV for a minute. That clears up a lot of input weirdness on these sets.

Thank you. This helped a lot. Still a little different than when logged out, but it works. You have to access it through the home hub. Prior there was just an app on the Home Screen. Either way, it works now.

Disconnect the LG from everything possible and get a more trusted external streamer. Not sure why anyone would use any LG software at this point.

Agreed, but still Doesn't matter unfortunately. It was proven it records even when unplugged from the network.

Only IF you connect to the internet again in the future. If you don't connect then it can't send anything. I have seen some people are removing the communication boards. I'm not going to go that far.

Yeah true. I forgot to add that caveat. Havent made it through the entire 2 hour gamers nexus video to see the entire scope of things.

External streaming device is the way to go though

Use Opus 5.5 or any AI and root it. Remove the bloat, it's a pretty easy fix now for TVs.

This is a great idea. Not sure why I didn't think about this before reading this.
