It is a rather gorgeous piece of hardware. Hate that I have to put it in a case.

First time I've ever done pickup in store on launch day (usually get them delivered) and it took an hour. It was a shtshow. A fairly efficient shtshow, but a shtshow nonetheless.

You don't have to put it in a case. I haven't used a case on any iPhone and have dropped the 16 Pro Max multiple times from about couch to counter level without any issues, just some small scratches at the corners

I tried going caseless with my 13 pro after I kept seeing Apple commercials with a kid or dog manhandling a phone with no ill effects.

I promptly cracked the screen twice within a few months. Maybe the newer phones are better.

Nope. Tried that once. Cracked screen. Never again.

I'm ordering one on Monday. Trying to decide between the 18 and the 18 max I've never had a max before. I'm just worried it's gonna be too big in my hand but my eyes are getting older so I'm thinking about the 18 max and increasing the font size. What are your thoughts on your 18 max?

I'm 6'6" so my hands are huge and I have never used any phone but the max. So I am not the best judge

I purchased a clear case for mine.

I did as well, it's just not the same.

Went with a black pro. Upgraded from a 14 pro max. Didn't mind the size of the max, but there were times it was a little big.

Went with black because I use a case. Will always use a case, even though I'm definitely not normally in situations that the extra protection is required. Still remember my HTC inspire, getting out of truck at best buy after getting the phone from att, slipped out of my hand and the camera lense got cracked (thankfully was not visible by the sensors).

Got the 18 pro and a burgundy case. Yeah it's Aggie maroon.

I really want a burgundy horween leather case from Nomad. But il live with the burgundy silicone one for now.

I crushed the back glass on my 16 Pro Max in a case. No idea how it happened other than maybe a drop. Was moderately easy to repair using ifixit guide, their toolkit, a heat gun, and an OEM back glass panel.

The glass housing for iPhones is such garbage. It enables MagSafe charging yet it is more fragile than metal, less efficient and worse for your battery than wired charging.
