My son and I played through a few levels on my Xbox. It's pretty good, a few quality of life updates to bring the controls into the modern era and a few cut-scenes are more fleshed out. Haven't encountered the flood yet but so far so good.

Warning, the Halo thread has a lot of haters. Not saying their arguments are not justified, but I think a lot of it is overblown.

Pretty sure your kid would have a blast playing it with you.

Its OK

But do realize it's 25 year old game, and the mixing changes to AI is worse. It doesn't feel as intentionally designed.

It has Co-Op so you can play together, and the shooting is still fun Halo.

It didn't blow me away but it is familiar if you like the series I'd probably still recommend it
