Just got it today switching from iPhone. This thing is awesome. Anyone else have any advice on getting this bad boy set up?

I switched from iphone to the fold last year. I loved the fold phone...but android OS just wasn't good enough for me so I eventually went back to apple. I still miss the phone though....congrats.

yeah, but I've seen models and I think apple is missing the mark. I would say when I had the fold, I used it folded probably 60-70% of the time. I used it unfolded/opened about 30-40% of the time.

If apple does release the short squat looking phone as predicted, that's not going to work (at least not for me). I still want a large screen when it's folded. Seems like apple thinks people will used it opened up most of the time...and maybe that's true for a lot of folks, but I don't think I'm alone with my use case.

I played with one in the Samsung store last weekend when we were at the Stonebrier Mall. That thing was awesome. I will get one eventually, but I'll wait until the price comes down (famous last words these days). I also have an S25 Ultra I haven't even had for a year. Going to get further along in my contract with it before I upgrade. My work phone is an iPhone 17 Pro Max. I like the Samsung better and I have been an Apple User since nearly day one.

The rumored no MagSafe killed my desire for it

I had the z fold 4 for years- I strongly recommend considering the insurance on them as they frequently broke along the fold. I ended up replacing 3 or 4 times, just about yearly. This was just from routine use not drops or anything like that.

I finally gave up on them and went with Galaxy s26+ and a tablet for gaming/reading/movies.

I fixed the magsafe problem by having a case with built in magsafe

I just picked up the Fold8.

Big fan.

I still have an iPhone as my primary workhorse along with Ultra 26+.

I do tech stuff for a living so I have a bunch of phones.

This…works perfectly every time. You can also just buy magnetic ring place it in the correct spot and then that will work.

I was not thrilled with the squat rumors but the fold 8 regular has a very similar profile to the rumored ultra. I took it for a spin at the store and I came to like it more than I thought. I liked it a lot as an e reader
