Looking at adding an additional business line to a dual sim iPhone. Current setup is with Visible, so considering a dual sim with either AT&T or T-Mobile. I travel internationally maybe 5-10 weeks out of the year and always just got a local SIM card while abroad.

Thinking google Fi seems like a solid option here for me, what have yalls experiences been like?

I've been on Fi for about a decade now. It's been great for me. I haven't been on any international travel though. I do use it to tether occasionally and it has good performance. I have heard that iphones can have issues with it even though they are officially supported. I have a pixel 10.

I have 6 lines on my Fi plan. a few iphones in there. No issues whatsoever. Been to Japan and Italy/Croatia over the last year where I switch to the international plan for a month. So easy to switch to it and back.

I really love it. I have some additional uses that make it really beneficial to me. Google Fi will give you up to 4 data only SIM cards per account in addition to your cell service.

Put one in your WiFi alarm with cellular backup and there is no extra charger to get an extra line or worry about a prepaid one.

Make a live game camera, just add a cheap harbor freight solar charger and battery and you can remote in and view live if you wish.

Put one in a cellular modem and use it as a travel router so you have secure internet where there is no WiFi or only unsecured WiFi. Or mount it far away from your main network like a barn and still have smart home and home assistant control of your iot devices.

The international calling helps if you travel. Plus the phone service is fine. I got onboard years ago through a friend of mine who worked at Google and it was called Project Fi and invite only. I was hesitant to switch because I was still active duty at the time and had Verizon. Years ago Verizon was the only service that had coverage at a lot of bases, especially out on the flightline.

Now all the big carriers have pretty good coverage.

I've used Fi for roughly the past decade also and have been very happy.

I traveled internationally a fair amount in the past and Fi was always reliable. When landing in a new country it would take 2-3 minutes to get connected sometimes, but always did and kept a good connection.
If all your travel is to the same country, a dedicated sim may cost less since you can pause Fi data, but it's unbeatable as a practically global sim.

I had ordered a few of the extra data-only sims to keep as a spare or if I needed to share with a guest sometime, however, if they sit around unused for an extended period they may stop working. My advise is to order the extra sims when you need one (or a week before you need one).

Another backup option are apps like Airalo that let you buy e-sims pretty easily.

Highly recommend especially for seamless international data. I'm connected most places in the world within minutes once the plane lands. Outside of the US everyone uses WhatsApp which makes communication a breeze.
