Ok nerds I am looking to purchase a decent projector for a new media room without breaking the bank. The room has no windows so ambient light will not be an issue. I will also purchase a 120" screen but have not decided which to buy yet. Does anyone have experience with either of these 2 models or can they recommend something comparable?

JVC LX-NZ30
Epson LS12000

Go with the Epson. I have a JVC projector but wouldn't touch the NZ30. No motorized lens control, single chip DLP, crap contrast. That thing is a dog.

I've got an Epson (it's the LS800, the UST projector) and have loved it.

What's the depth of the room and position where you're going to put the projector? For the Epson the throw distance looks like it should be almost 16 feet from a 120" screen (15'-11") per the calculator at projector central https://www.projectorcentral.com/Epson-Pro_Cinema_LS12000-projection-calculator-pro.htm#calc
