Looking at a new laptop. Anymore its mostly excel, and some memory intensive programs / web based things for Oil & Gas .Was running Autocad but pretty well had to stop most other programs on the 16GB machine to keep it working. Current seems to do good with the web based systems everything is switching to, really looking to lighten the load on my back with carrying 2 computers everywhere (personal and company machine)

Currently have a Lenovo P53. 16inch w/ numeric key pad.
-16 GB Ram
- 1 TB Storage
- Intel i7 (2.6GHz)

Looking at either a Lenovo P16s or X1 (spec'd below). Price not really a driver so much as making sure I have enough machine. every 2 weeks at a minimum I'm through several air ports between ND and TX, and working out of mobile offices.

Don't do alot of CAD work anymore, though there is always that possibility. Mainly for operations focused Petroleum Engineer (Excel, WellView/Reporting softward & databases, email, web based Real Time operations viewers (IWS, Coil Data, NOV Max Completions & some other Real Time viewers, not all concurrently).

Aside from the dedicated graphics card and numeric key pad - anything I'm missing?

Do weight, size, form factor, quality, noise, and battery life matter?

Yes they matter.
Would like to not have a 30 minute battery life....

Weight would be nice to not have a 30 lb back pack through an airport before I ever put in anything else besides 2 laptops.

I like the 10 key numeric pad which ties you to the larger laptops. Not a deal breaker though as I can (and have) traveled with the separate keyboard/10 key.

Does having a separate Graphics card matter that much vs an integrated one?

Open to suggestions.
