Thanks in advance for any help/advice/tips. This is all kinda foreign to me.

We just had to tear our garage down due to Beryl and the opportunity presents itself to make things better so we are adding an outdoor covered porch along one side of our new garage. During the rough-in I will need to let them know what to put where.

Basically we want an outdoor TV with two speakers outside and another TV in the garage with two speakers. (houston humidity)

Is there an affordable way to make these work independently at the same time or do I need an amp or receiver for each?

I want to be able to play Music through spotify, etc on each or have them play sound from the TV.

I plan to run cat 6A ethernet from a mesh router to the garage in several locations to power not only the speakers but cameras with POE or have the option to use a normal outlet.

We currently have SONOS inside and I would love to do that outside but those are a bit over budget. The plan to start out is to get something that works fine now and upgrade and have the capability to upgrade down the road.

It's not a huge backyard and is a pretty quiet neighborhood so these don't need to be anything huge. These are some of the speakers I was looking at

Yamaha
Polk Atrium 6
Polk Atrium 8

I have never owned/set up and amp or receiver so this is where I really would like some help if anyone has a recommendation.

Much thanks for any help

I'm assuming these will be new TVs, therefore smart and connected to the internet via your mesh WiFi. Of course you can stream Spotify, Pandora, YouTube, etc. directly through the TV apps. The speakers you list have good ratings. If it were my money I would go with the Polk speakers. Atrium 8 for outside and Atrium 6 for the garage where the walls will reinforce the sound and you need less speaker. If you want to go really basic, there are a number of small Bluetooth amplifiers like the one I have linked below. Connect the optical output of the TV to the optical input of the amp and you can listen to whatever is playing on the TV. Since it is Bluetooth capable, you could also stream music, etc from your phone. Connect speaker cables with RCA connectors to the amplifier and the other end to your speakers. If you want more audio system capabilities, an A/V receiver would give you multiple input channels, surround sound speaker outputs etc. Not sure how easy it is to find outdoor rated versions of those.

This one looks to be a new model without a good number of reviews so hard to know if it's any good but the optical input doesn't seem to be very common with outdoor rated amps. Most TVs now don't seem to have line level stereo outputs for connecting to an amp or receiver.

Yes they will be smart TVs...but the wi-fi back there even with the mesh is unpredictable so I am gonna run the ethernet where I can since it will be easy right now. Im just trying to figure out how to connect the TV to those outdoor speakers. I just dont really know what I should be buying (amp and/or receiver) and I need to buy it soon.

I added to my post above. Apparently I was taking too long and timed out when I was still working on my reply. Hopefully it helps you with a simple solution that is easily implemented.

This may or may not help you....

In my backyard, I have a TV inside the gazebo by the pool. I have a Sonos Arc soundbar connected to it. I can play audio from the TV or stream music from my phone using the Arc.

This might be a good initial step for you and you could save money with a Beam instead of the Arc.

In addition, I have 3 pairs of KEF Ventura 6 speakers mounted in different locations outside which are connected to a Sonos Amp. I can pair the Sonos Arc and the Sonos Amp together within the app so that all 7 speakers are playing the same music or whatever I have on the TV at the same time.

That does make sense. Sonos is a little out of our budget for now but I hadn't thought of a soundbar. I would be more worried about the elements down here in houston but that may be an option later.

My first thought was a soundbar, plug and play with fiber optic. But I wasn't finding outdoor rated soundbars in a quick search.

My Sonos Arc is pretty close to a pool, so I found an online company that hits them with a waterproofing spray. Weatherprooftelevisions.com

The normal one would probably be fine if it's under a roof

Sonos BEAM or Ray vs the arc. Plenty good for a backyard tv set up

Make sure they install outlets up high where the tv would be and more outlets under the covered patio even if you don't think you'll use them. We had a covered patio built when we bought our house (Houston). I just bought a regular Vizio sound bar and subwoofer that connects by fiber (I believe). Nothing fancy. Still working after 2 years outside. TV is a TCL from Walmart. I will say though, for a tv outside, find one with the brightest screen. I think I read that tv's have a rating for brightness.
