Has anyone tried signing up for DirecTV Steam with another zip code other than your physical address zip code? Such as you are in East Texas and you sign up for service using a DFW zip code? Reason being is the zip code for my physical address doesn't offer all the local channel affiliates, whereas a DFW zip code would offer all local affiliates. Is this possible or would not allow you to do it?

I don't think signing up will be your issue, I think the actual app that streams on a device requires geolocation to see where you are. So you would also have to setup a VPN to connect to a Dallas node so that the system thinks you're in Dallas.

Thank you for the reply! I was researching online and saw DT customer rep respond that an IOS device (Apple) tracks geolocation but that Android, Smart TV and device like Roku doesn't. So wondering if you used Roku on your TV or Smart TV would it work for out of market service in your home network? Whereas watching on an Apple mobile device could be one of your roaming mobile devices?

I have Eero Mesh system with built in VPN, so if using the Eero VPN would that hide the geolocation?

Depends on the VPN. The one I use around the world is Witopia. I can pick where I say I'm at, say their DFW server, and my PC will think it's there when I stream. As mentioned, it doesn't spoof the Apple Location Services. I don't have the google stuff so can't speak to them.

Don't have a direct answer, but I have used the app on the firestick while traveling and gotten my local DFW channels when just logged into the local airbnb router.
