How long do you want to ignore this user?
My daughter just started using the computer. I created a separate user account on our kitchen desktop. She clicked an ad which installed some sort of malware that kept popping up every 3 seconds from the toolbar. Quick google search and I got it removed.

I went to install uBlock on Chrome so this wouldn't happen again and it had a message that it's no longer supported for Chrome. Lots of threads on reddit that they're ditching Chrome for Firefox over this issue.

Google is fighting a lot of the adblock companies right now. An easier route might be to setup pihole for DNS on your network at block ads at that level.

I switched to AdGuard MV3. Seems ok to me.

I was in a more moving forward thought process. Google is going to be fighting adblockers from here on out, as it cuts into their revenue. Also with the rise of extensions that have had breaches or abused data collection, as Google cuts out established ones I'm going to trust new ones less and less.

Firefox + uBlock is easiest.

This is pretty much the end line on this topic. I go through the Google cracking down on adblockers every year and the scramble to work around it and it's getting tiring. I am just so invested in Google and google products pretty much over my whole adult life. They got me. Hard for me to break away mentally, even if I have to come to more or less despise them as a company and corporate identity.

I'll get to migrating my digital life over to Firefox....tomorrow. (ad nauseum)

I wouldn't get too comfortable using Firefox, there's a good chance that it'll die thanks to the anti-trust ruling against Google. Most don't know, but the vast majority of income for Mozilla org came from their search engine deal with Google that has now been nixed by the DOJ. So, unfortunately there's a realistic chance that firefox dies sometime in the near future

Hmmm.... i haven't noticed any recent issues with uBlock, but will need to find some other option if this starts becoming an issue. I can't deal with ads on YouTube.

I couldn't pull the trigger in firefox. Starting to move over to Brave now. Pretty easy transition so far.
