If you update your computer to windows 11 24h2 it will break your computer for anything beyond basic functionality. It made gaming impossible (the stuttering was so bad I got 1 frame per second) and even chrome caused significant slowdown.

Don't upgrade if you don't have to on personal computers. I immediately rolled mine back and it fixed every problem I had.

I have a near top of the line computer too. I cannot imagine trying to run this garbage on a 6 year old system.

This is the worst update to windows I have ever seen.

Yikes. We updated all our work PCs (desktops and laptops - All Dell) and haven't had any issues as of yet.

System
Recovery
In recovery options: click "go back"

This should roll it back.

Staff needs to pin this at the top.

I did the update on 12/21/24. My "go back" is greyed out (Google says I only have 10 days to rollback).

You may have to use one of the other methods. There are a few available. Search Google for them.

Had one machine at work get stuck repeatedly on the Dell loading screen, then went to BitLocker recovery. Was finally able to get it to boot into safe mode and roll back updates.

It also deletes your activation key so it's no longer a valid copy of windows so hope you have the product ID code somewhere.

No, this is a well known and common issue. 24H2 is absolute garbage.

It was supposed to be a huge update for AMD Ryzen chips but it has somehow done the opposite. All of my drivers are updated and current, the issue is a Windows one.

I had a mid December update that caused my computer to lockup all the time. I had to disable TPM and bitlocker.

One employees computer turned into garbage once it was downloaded, doesn't seem to have effected the others as significantly… very odd.

He couldn't even open the photos app.
