What are the other must-have PS5 games?

Yep, all of those listed right above are fantastic. My 15 year old son has been playing Ratchet and Clank since he was little and they remain one of his favorites. Can't go wrong with those for the kids, or with the various Lego games.

Don't forget the things that will get used the most. NetFlix/Prime/D+. I swear it feels like I've bought a really expensive Roku sometimes.

Did you get one with the disk drive? If so, get a 4k blu ray to check out. They're pretty awesome. I really like the new top gun.

I have a PS2 (slim) with a variety of games, but it's in the upstairs closet.

Yep. It's UI and loading speed blows away our Roku tvs and sticks.

It's great for streaming services.

My wife got me a PS5 for Christmas! We got a good laugh out of it when I opened it because I was sorta joking when I said that's what I wanted for Christmas. I already have a Series X and I did NOT need another console, but who doesn't love a new toy!?! My company had a good year and she wanted to spoil me so we had fun it!

The last PS I owned was a PS3 and man, I gotta say, I've been gaming on the wrong console for 10+ years!!! The PS5 is definitely superior to the current Xbox's. The Dual Sense controller and what they did with the built in Astro game alone are more creative than anything MS has done in a LONG time. That GPU song!

I will give MS credit for one thing... their backwards compatibility is top notch. I love playing old games over and over again and this is primarily why I've been on Xbox. I have several digital PS3 games that I guess are gone forever because they aren't even listed in the store anymore.

Anyway, it's fun being back on PS. I need to finish Indiana Jones on Xbox and I'll cancel Gamepass for a while. Already signed up for the middle tier PS Plus... so I have a huge backlog of "free" games and I think I'll purchase Helldivers... I'll be busy for a LONG time.

Don't forget the Uncharted games and Last of Us (which have both been remastered for PS5).

And as far as stupid fun games go, Rocket League is tough to beat.

Not sure if you're into racers but Walmart has Gran Turismo 7 right now for $19. Kind of one of those classic PS games.

Really been enjoying my new PS5. It's a really well done console all around and the games are obviously top notch. Also really love the controller. I was NOT a fan of the in-line thumbsticks on previous PS consoles, but the DualSense doesn't bother me at all, feels great!

Been mostly playing Helldivers which is really fun and I have 2018 God of War loaded and ready to dive into... but first I gotta speed run and finish the last half of Indiana Jones on the Xbox (my Gamepass expires mid January).

Thanks, but I have a digital only console. Haven't bought a physical game in around 10 years. I'm sorta into racers, but I got more than my fill on the Xbox with the recent Forza Horizon games. And Dirt 5 was also a Gamepass game that I sunk a bunch of hours into... really liked that one!

But I think for now I'm more interested in plowing through my massive backlog of PS Adventure games (PS3 was my last Sony console).

I almost went digital only but it seems like a lot of great deals are on physical media games.

Still hoping to find a 30th anniversary controller for my son at closer to normal retail. The lowest I've seen on Ebay is around $120, Amazon 3rd party are $140ish new. Any leads are appreciated.

How are you liking Indiana jones?

I'm thinking of picking it up in the spring when it releases on ps5.

Did you get the pro or the normal ps5?

I just got a regular slim. Hard to justify a Pro when I already have an Xbox, a Quest 3, and I also just got a steam deck earlier this year. I have enough toys!

I personally really like Indiana Jones. It's a unique game and it really does fit the franchise. Not worth getting an Xbox for, but many will enjoy it on PS in a few months.

Definitely recommend playing through the Horizon games. Horizon: Zero Dawn may be one of my favorite games of all time.

I actually got it via a steam sale. I've put a few hours into it on the steam deck. I like it, but it's hard playing AAA games on a handheld. It just isn't the same experience compared to a 4K TV.

It's not first on my list, but pretty sure I'll be getting it for PS5 in the near future. Just started Spider Man remastered and will go from there.

For H:ZD, definitely take your time to read/listen to all of the various old world messages. The random ones in the open world are just for fun, but the ones that you encounter on storyline missions provides that something extra takes the game from A to AAA.

Also, for the vantage points and concrete beach party, look at them again in the logs. There's text that you don't see when you scan them in-game to listen to the audio. I thought the CBP audio were quirky but kinda dumb, but then the text in the log menu for those puts them in a different light.

Horizon Zero Dawn is up there with The Last of Us for my favorite game. I agree that taking your time with it makes it more enjoyable. If you get HZD make sure you get the complete version that includes the Frozen Wilds DLC because it's awesome. For whatever reason I didn't enjoy Forbidden West quite as much as the original.

Yeah, the version I got on the Steam Deck has the frozen wilds included. Like I said, I've been enjoying it, but I would really prefer to play it on my LG OLED!

Right now having a blast with Helldivers and the Spiderman Remaster. I'm signed up for the middle tier PS+ and the next games on my list are God of War and Demon's Souls (beat the original back in the day, remake looks fantastic!).

I'm sorta blown away by how much I enjoyed that little game. I doubt any game will utilize the rumble/tech in the controller as much as that game, but man Sony really nailed the DualSense. Xbox needs to step it up with their next design.

Will definitely be getting the new AstroBot game at some point.

I think the biggest disappointment that I have with the PS5 is the level of integration development with the DualSense from most studios. Astro's Playroom was basically a blueprint and tech demo of how it can be applied and it was awesome. From what I read about Astro Bot, same thing. Not sure if it's too difficult to dev for, or if most studios just limit it to basic haptics and that's all they want to do - either way I feel like the hardware technology is being underutilized.

Just lower on the pecking order of priorities unfortunately
