Looking to convert a lot of precious/irreplaceable 35mm slides to digital. Drfinitely do not want to ship them anywhere so I'm looking at renting or buying a good quality scanner.

Plustek 8200/8300 seem to have good reviews from websites, but amazon has very mixed reviews.

Any others I should check out? Budget is generous.

I have an epson flatbed scanner that has an insert for scanning slides/films/negatives. I've used it for years, it's slow but I've been happy with the results.

I used a previous model of this Kodak scanner with good results. https://a.co/d/gtrsPjs

It works with 35 mm slides and various film negatives. I don't have any experience with plustek, not sure if it was an option a few years ago.

On a similar note, googles photo scan app was a lifesaver while converting mom's photo albums to digital. https://www.google.com/photos/scan/
