What do you recommend for $300+/- or less?

Its for my son, I dont think he cares if it is a flat or curved panel, but I am thinking flat since we are looking for a 27".

This is pretty good bang for the buck. Well under budget, decent resolution (1440p), a bit over size though.

That's a great monitor for the price. I love my curved monitors and would never go back.
