If you're talking inventory space no, but stash space yes. You start off with a large amount of space to carry you personally for a while but if you want to buy more you can buy more stash tabs with real money. They're very cheap and go on sale often. I hate microtransactions as much as anyone, but PoE actually does it right. The game is free so it's how they make money to fund the game development.

I'm thinking I should play the original (free on gamepass) while waiting for the sequel to be completed (6 months?).

Hopefully game pass isn't trying to market it as a deal on the original since it is already a free to play game!

As for the trials, they are a challenge, and it will be interesting to see how they proceed. In the original, the Lab for ascendancy is also a challenge without life/dmg. Once you start getting some decent relics, it does help with the first. The second one is RNG to a degree with which options you get.

I think the gear drops could be fine with a bit of a guide on using currency to craft items. Or how to get additional currency to retool/enhance what you have.

Bought a currency tab and a premium tab, but when I try to right click currency into its tab it always goes into the premium tab. Is that normal?

You need to set the Tab's specific settings to auto stash. can't remember the term, but it's fairly obvious. Then you have to make sure the overall stash settings allow that feature. It doesn't automatically work unless you set both these.

Getting towards the end of act 3 finally. Level 43. Should be able to go back and best the second ascendancy tomorrow maybe. This third act has been a slog. Many of the levels are simply too big with too few checkpoints. I've had a couple of times losing 15+ minutes of mob clearing and that feels way too punishing.

Is the entire POE community shady?

I whispered someone from the Trade site to purchase an amulet he had listed at 1 Ex orb. He responds he'll sell for 2 Ex orbs. I told him no, I would pay what he listed it for and he said he just did that to get a response. I said that's some shady bull****, and he just responds that I'm a newbie trader.

Am I to assume that is common in the POE community? I refuse to deal with anyone who pulls **** like that.

Never dealt with that in POE1 trading, just a bad apple.

I'm probably just bad, but have two characters in mid 40s, got them both to the Viper boss at end of act 3 and she kicks my ass on both. I think the best I have managed on either character is 1/2 health. Any secrets I should be aware of other than "git gud"?

Yeah. I'm in some of the dungeons in Act 3 and it's all like "Oh, you like the Durance of Hate? Well around every corner is a whole new Durance of Hate to chew through."

Are you following a build guide?

I wanted to make my own way on my first Warrior playthrough. Starting out I was going stun buildup and also doing fire. I ran into a wall at the lava boss and had to rethink my build. I decided to go hard into a single mechanic instead of two.

I am now focusing only on skills that increase stun buildup and damage to stunned/armor broken enemies. I am melting bosses, now.

Are you getting the viper boss to half health quickly and dying, or are you grinding for a while and finally dying? I'm a huge Soulsborne player and have always gone with the mantra of doing as much damage as possible to kill quickly instead of stacking defense to survive longer. If you are grinding out half health, then focus on skills to do as much damage as possible.

Aside from those, git gud may sound harsh, but it's real.

Yeah I'm kinda disappointed that I have to just grind the same acts again to finish the game. At least PoE1 had a separate storyline to follow when you went through it again. I'm slogging through Act 2 and I'm probably skipping the Ascension there because the honour system sucks so bad.

2nd ascendancy took me probably 20 tries. I faced the specific boss 4 times before beating him. The bird thing that throws blood everywhere. Once I figured out his pattern (and to stop casting when he started throwing the blood that kept one shorting me so I could run faster) I beat him the next try.

The last two bosses took me several tries. The viper guy with all the centurion guys and the final guy. Both were a pain but I probably got them after 5-6 each. I also had problems with the guy with the big axe but once I changed my rings to max fire res, he was much easier.

Not at home so I'll probably mess some of this up, but currently running spark with unleash, the casting speed support, and pierce. Flame wall with persistence and fortress. The electrical circle thing with +chance to shock and AOE size. And mana tempest with inspiration. That's my main 4. I did get a staff with sigil of power and that helped a lot the last couple of bosses when I added it in as a second weapon only to cast it.

Biggest boost for me was buying a +2 to all spells focus for 1ex on the trade site. I also have a +2 to lightning spells wand that i found. Both of those made a big difference.

For my first ascendancy I took the arcane surge note. 2nd I took exposure but I might change it to either the storms (tried that first and didn't care for it, I don't crit enough) or the double shock node. That one seems strong.

The corruption mechanic is whack. It either does nothing, improves an item, or permanently bricks it.

Yes, the vaal orb is just there to take up space in your inventory until you feel really lucky and try one out.

Best use I have seen for them is creating extra links on your gems. Theres a few youtube videos. Apparently it is way cheaper. I havent tried it yet as I only have a couple of them.

I found this build this morning and switched over to it, and it appears to have helped both my survivability and damage. I didnt change all that much but switched around a few supports and a few points in my tree. Might be worth taking a look at it.

Well, since changing up my build just a little, I one shot the pyro boss and balbala. Balbala died in like 10 seconds. I don't want to admit to how many tries it took me to kill that boss on my first run through.

I did get a unique wand with +3 to all spells levels, and it says life every time I cast, which is nice.

Finally got past that Viper ***** boss. I switched offhand from a scepter (which I needed for Spirit previously) to Shield, and tried to focus more on keeping my Energy Shield recharged at all times. Shield seems to do quite a bit of mitigation. Now to finally see what else there is in the game.

After struggling with viper, i one shot the last boss and made it to cruel mode

Well, I beat act 2 on crueld tonight at level 61. Then went and did the 2nd floor of the balbala trial and blazed through it pretty easily. I need to find a level 61 key to try for my third ascendancy.

Buying a new weapon every 5 levels or so has completely broken the game lol. It makes a huge difference spending just a few exalted to make sure my weapon and offhand are up to date every once in a while.

I really don't want to play act 3 again. It wasn't fun the first time. The levels are way too big and it just takes entirely too long. I'm sure I'll hit a wall here in the next few days if I'm not able to run through it pretty quickly.

I'm almost done leveling my second character and I'm just running through the zones to the check points lol. Every once in a while stop, pop mana storm and delete everything following me with a few sparks.

Been mostly cruising through cruel mode. At the end boss of Act 2. This might be the first real test. Took me a few tries in normal mode to get past.
