I thought they remastered Wind Waker on the Switch?

That was for Wii U. Sadly they never ported it, probably cause it was designed for the second screen of the Wii U gamepad.

It's a beautiful looking game.

Oracle of Seasons and Ages are GREAT

The Minish Cap on GBA was pretty good

I think all 3 of those were licensed by N and developed by Capcom.

Is there a way to play these on newer systems?

I think Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons might be on Switch online as well. If not… emulator

I loved BOTW...however...me, as a very casual gamer...I hate when my weapons broke. I wish you could turn that off in the options menu. I know, thats part of the game and I get it.

I am about to start up TOTK again. I had played and gotten quite far when I accidentally started a new game over my saved progress for my nephew Thanksgiving 2023. So its taken some time for me to get the itch to play again. Ready to work through it. That was brutal to realize what I had done.

Would be curious to hear how OP's Zelda catch up went.

I recommend Link to the Past, it is an all time classic. Over 30 years old and still one of the greatest games ever.

How was Echoes of Wisdom?

I'm not very far into it yet, but so far not a fan of the combat. If you are wanting traditional Zelda combat, this isn't the game for you. The puzzle aspect of it using various echoes is really good though.

Never played BOTW but in TOTK, rock octoroks can repair damaged weapons, bows, and shields.

Can happen in BOTW too. They can improve rusty weapons too.

I admit the weapon degradation and no source of repair is annoying. They could have pretty easily put a blacksmith at the stables that collect specific resources for repairs.

However, I do like how the weapon degradation forces you to try out different weapon styles. Without that I probably would have found one good weapon and used it most of the game with no variety. It also contributes to the post-apocalyptic scavenging for supplies feel of the game.

I used to hate the weapon degradation at first, but when you think about it, the whole game sort of depends on that. It forces you to keep exploring and fighting enemies to get more and better weapons all the time. So I get it.

I enjoyed it. Obviously, not as immersive as BOTW/TOTK so very quick play-through. I thought the puzzles were great. Fighting enemies with the echoes was boring, though. Wish Zelda was allowed to be more involved with swordplay.

I got a gameboy-looking emulator thing with 1000+ old games on it, so I'm about to hit Oracle of Seasons, Oracle of Ages, Four Swords, Minnish Cap and Phantom Hourglass. There's no Spirit Tracks on it, but if I get through them all I may figure out how to install extra games.

I think that would just leave Majora's Mask (played it on 3DS, didn't get hooked), Wind Waker and Echoes of Wisdom. And Triforce Heroes but I don't know if that one counts per se.

I loved Oracle of Ages/Seasons. Be sure and use the password, from the end of whichever one you finish first, in the 2nd game so that you can fight the real final boss.
