*********yes! This is the most exciting news I've heard in a long time! I'm more pumped for this than any tv show or movies news that's currently out there. I very rarely platinum games but I have zero doubt I'll platinum this just like I did the first one. That game was just so gorgeous and fun to play.

It's kinda blatantly obvious to lol. AC is one of my favorite franchises and people have been wanting them to do Japan for a long time. But then Ubisoft got cute and went with a black protagonist as a Samurai which was always gonna cause a negative reaction. (Funny enough, a lot of those negative people are also already complaining about female protagonist for the new Ghosts). Ubisoft claiming they are postponing to make sure everything is squared away following the less than expected sales of Star Wars Outlaws, but the timing is obvious.

Doesn't matter to me either way because I'll end up playing both

Awesome! I enjoyed Ghost of Tsushima so much, I played it twice! Can't wait for this to come out!

Very much looking forward to this. GoT was one of my favorite games of recent.

Did not see this coming. Finally a bit of gaming news I am legitimately excited about.

I haven't seen many complaining that the protagonist is female, more so that the model and voice actor they are using is a "gender-fluid", "pansexual", whack job who discusses having sex with Pokemon.

I will remain cautiously optimistic as Sucker Punch has earned goodwill from the first 2, but this choice is a huge red flag.

Is she talking about this game being "an explosion of gayness"? If not then I couldn't care less what or who she does in her personal life. And I'm confused by what you mean "the first 2"? There's only been one Ghost game to date.

Didn't help that they lied about it and got busted. I still would have played it although maybe not if these Ghost games are similar but better. Don't have a PS5 so don't know much about them.

Still a PS exclusive though, right?

Ghost of Tsushima is significantly better than Assassin's Creed IMHO.

Far less bloat, better story/presentation, and a world that feels more organic and interesting. It really absormed me into the world in a way that no AC game has truly done (they feel more artificial and cheesy). The combat also blows it away.

Highly recommend you try Ghost if you like the AC series.

I've never played any of the AC games but I've seen friends play them, Ghost was superior to what I've seen in AC games IMO. Maybe the best combat system I've ever played, it's so smooth. Once you get the hang of it going into a fortress is so much fun. At the beginning it took me a while to get through the first camp of bad guys, but after I got good the more bad guys the better. There are some repetitive elements in the game out in the open world, but all open world games have an element of that. Easily the most beautifully animated game I've ever played with top notch music and overall sound design. It's even got a black & white mode if you wish to play it that way.

I finished the main campaign but can't remember if I finished the DLC or not to be honest. It's not that bad to learn either. I suck at the souls games so I'd never attempt to play Sekiro which I heard is the hardest game From Software has made to date. Ghost is just an overall great game.

GoT Legends - the standalone expansion

I still haven't finished the original. I got overwhelmed with all the map markers I felt I had to discover, though it was a good game with good combat and beautiful scenery. I'll probably be picking it up. I can play it on my new PS5 Pro =)

As for a female protagonist, that doesn't bother me at all as long as she is well written and her storyline isn't "woke". Hell, I have around 12 or so saves in Elden Ring and every single one of them is a female character. If i'm going to be looking at the back of a character for 50-70 hours, I would prefer a female character. I also always think female characters look great in armor.

This is nothing like having a black protagonist in a game set in Japan.

If i wanted to buy Ghost of Tsushima to play on PS5, which version would you suggest? You can find used copies of the original PS4 version on eBay for ~$25, with the option to upgrade to the PS5 Director's Cut for $30. Or i can just bite the bullet and buy the PS5 Director's Cut for $70. Is the PS5 version worth the $$$, or is it fine to just play the PS4 version on the PS5?

The DLC missions are pretty good. I found myself immersed in the gameplay. Best 3rd person game I've played in a while.

I'd like to chime in and say the multiplayer mode of Ghost was great too
