How long do you want to ignore this user?
I recently started working from home and my wireless internet router is downstairs and on the opposite end of the house from my office upstairs, leading to internet that drops out several times per day. This may seem like a dumb question but how can I boost the internet signal across the width of my house?

Get a mesh system. Eero is well reviewed, I have a Linksys system that works well also.

Basically you place nodes around your house but they act as a single network, much better than repeaters.

Spend $20 and call it a day:

TP-Link RE315 Mesh Wi-Fi Extender

Sure you can spend more. But I had the same problem you did and this did the trick.

If you have the option, move your router upstairs and have an extender/mesh system downstairs. It's been explained to me that WiFi transmits easier down than going up for whatever reason.

Good to know. I'm not sure that's an option given where the internet service enters the home.

Just turn the router upside down.

The repeaters are a better option if you need Internet to a shed or something, especially if you can run CAT6 between it and the router. The mesh system is far superior for covering the whole house. Yes, it's definitely going to cost you more, but it's worth it if you can afford it.

That's what I ordered yesterday so we'll see how it works! Thanks.
