I'm part of numerous projects right now, and honestly taking notes during meetings distracts me from the other content. I'm mostly on Zoom and Teams. I'm looking for an app that will record and then transcribe those meetings and then either summarize for or I could throw the transcript into ChatGPT and have it summarize for me. It looks like the AI Companion option in Zoom is blocked out by work but I'm checking into that too.

Copilot for M365 is the Microsoft answer. I've seen otter in use, but if you work for a large corporation they will eventually block access to third party AI tools that aren't company approved.

Yes and this is embedded into Teams. It does a reasonably good job at transcription and you can also use/train it to ask questions about the meeting and have it give you an answer (e.g. "please provide a synopsis", "what were the top 3 points of the meeting", "what were key themes across these two meetings").

The only catch is the meeting has to be recorded so you'll need to get approval to record AND only the meeting organizer can download the transcript or meeting recording as it's assigned to the organizer's account.

Zoom offers these kinds of features at certain user levels. If all you're using Zoom for is simple video calls, that's now about 10% of everything you can use it for.

ETA: Usually these types of features are reserved for meeting organizers on most the apps I'm aware of. I don't know of a software to just run and capture your vide and audio outputs to then parse through it.

We use Fireflies. You can add it as a browser extension or use the email address for your bot to invite it to the meetings.

I work on 3 different projects and am in charge of 2 of them. It's useful when creating the Jira stories that come from the meetings.

We did try Otter and one or two others, but Fireflies has worked well.
