How long do you want to ignore this user?
It seems like every few months, I have to redo stuff with ESPN in order to watch the Aggies. I have YouTube TV and the ESPN settings shows YouTube TV as my provider, but when I try to watch anything on ESPN+, it goes to the page wanting me to subscribe and I can't get to anything else. This started with the baseball games this week. I've restarted the fire stick, I've deleted and reinstalled the ESPN app, but nothing has worked. Can y'all help me?

ESPN+ is a separate service from ESPN with provider. You have to buy it on its own. its like $10 for this month. I subscribed to watch the games myself. Immediately turn off the renewal after subscribing so you dont forget 1 month from now and get hit with it again after baseball is over.

Is that something recently changed? I've watched the Aggies on ESPN+ for at least a couple of years without an additional subscription

No, it's just ESPN is confusing.

The Ags are rarely on ESPN +. For baseball, it's really just some postseason games and occasionally for a non conference away game. It's always been a separate subscription service not included w/ your cable subscription.

Now, you can stream the SEC Network + included in your cable subscription, assuming you get SEC Network. Ags are on it a lot.

A&M had 2 games on ESPN+ during the regular season, neither were home games. All other A&M games that were not on "standard" TV were on the SECN+. That requires you to have a cable service with the SECN.

ESPN+ is a separate subscription. ESPN does make it confusing by mixing and matching.

There are 2 separate logins for the ESPN app, one for your cable login and a second one for the ESPN+ login. You can login to both at the same time.

Everytime I launch the ESPN+ app on my AppleTV, it shows the code that I have to use to activate the app. But if I hit the back button, it goes to the app and everything works fine.

I can't tell you how many times I've had to re-activate the same apps over the course of the last year. Not sure why it's happening - getting a bit annoying.

The espn apps, across all platforms, have to be the worst in all of streaming.

Every time I log in on my phone I have to resign in via my cable provider. After I do the screen freezes and have to force close the app and reopen it.

When I turned on the app built into my Samsung tv yesterday it was frozen on the game from Sunday night. Had to force close and restart it.

Had the same issues as you before using the Apple TV.

It still works if you are logged in already, i have multiple devices like that. But if you have to log a new one it, the api fails to load.

I had this problem a while back. iOS has a "TV Provider" option under settings that defaults to various things; mine was Youtube TV. In theory that should keep it signed in across all platforms, but the ESPN app didn't like that. I was able to turn off the TV Provider in the iOS general settings and then stay logged in with better (but not 100%) consistency afterwards. (Note, iOS updates seem to default back to including in in the iOS settings so you might have to do it again with updates.)

We can put a microprocessor capable of millions of computations per second on the head of a fn' pin but we can't have apps that work properly and keep PAYING subscribers logged in (at their preference). This is either extreme incompetence on the part of the developers OR a deliberate effort to benefit themselves in some way, shape, or form at the expense of the customer.
