We have a 2019 Tahoe that my wife spends a lot of time in carting our kiddos around. For long road trips we've connected a laptop via HDMI to play movies for the kids over the entertainment system (fold down screen).

We're looking for a better device to use as the laptop is clunky. Been exploring an iPad + AV converter but curious if there are other more affordable options to consider?

Does your system have the ability to play video files from a USB drive? Some friends of mine do it this way, but their Tahoe is a couple years newer.

Do you have an iPad already or other tablet? The HDMI adapters aren't expensive if you do.
