"World of Warcraft: The War Within is an upcoming tenth expansion pack for the massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) World of Warcraft, following Dragonflight. It is part of a new Worldsoul Saga trilogy led by Chris Metzen. World of Warcraft: The War Within is scheduled to release in 2024 for Windows and macOS."

Metzen is back at the helm and this next expansion will be the first in a trilogy. With player happiness (if there ever was such a thing) taking a nosedive ever since Legion, Dragonflight has been a refreshing departure from Blizzard's stubborn ways of not taking player feedback seriously. Will it continue into The War Within?

They've taken a lot of great ideas from other games *cough FFXIV cough* on how to be receptive and communicative with your players and it seems to be working out.

I don't play as hard as I used to, personally. 1 raid night a week when a new raid drops until AoTC, then we break until the next tier. Works for us as we're all older with families and other priorities - but still enjoy blowing off some steam killing npcs. (If this sounds interesting, we could use some more dps )

Anyone else planning on picking it up? Thoughts on the new direction?

Believe it when I see it. I don't play retail WoW anymore. I dabble in the classic offerings. If metzen can get the old feel of wow back instead of the rainbows and lollipops of dragon flight I may try it. Shadowlands sucked but at least it had a darker, grittier vibe to it.

I haven't played since Shadowlands.

What night do you guys raid? That's the type of guild I am looking for....people with families and other obligations because as you well know, when you have a family and are older you just don't have the free time to raid multiple nights per week.

I'm also a "believe when I see it" person. I've taken breaks in Cata, Warlords, start of Legion and end of Shadowlands.

I am cautiously optimistic for TWW. My own opinion is that they did a lot right gameplay wise with Dragonflight, despite the story being a bit lacking. Hoping we've turned a corner there.

As for our group, we raid Saturday nights from 8 to midnight. Looking for folks that can keep their ilvl up, not stand in fire, and beat the tanks in dps. Proficient in good natured banter is a plus.

Bumping this thread to see if anyone is still actively playing in an active guild. I haven't played since the middle of BFA and have come back to a dead guild.

I'm playing Horde on Area 52 (not sure if servers matter anymore for guilds) and would love to find a new guild to join for some light raiding and mythics. I've also an army of crafting alts as I've weirdly enjoyed the crafting changes they did.

It's been a while but i've been debating resubbing. I would be down for mythics but cannot commit to a regular raid schedule. I typically play horde as a healer and sometime tank.

It's been a good expansion so far, in my opinion. People really didn't like the timegating of content during weeks 1-3 but as someone who has a lot of real life responsibilities it was very nice to not feel like I was behind.

Extremely alt character friendly with warbands, warbanks, account wide currency, rep, and transmog. Stacking bonus XP for leveling alts with each max level character, etc.

The raid was pretty good (cleared heroic, dont know abput mythic), I have a few antisocial acquaintances that love delves (single player instances). M+ feels like it's more of a challenge now and seems to have mixed to negative reactions. Fewer people are running them now that there are other options. The same problems still exist (toxicity).

My chief complaint these days is that the world has grown so damn big and that's just a natural consequence of how old the game is. I've played since vanilla. If I want to go somewhere in the world that isn't current or previous expansion content, especially oooold content, sometimes it takes a wowhead article, 2 flight paths, 3 portals, and speaking to an npc to phase me into the correct timeline to get there (and maybe a few quests). While there is no real need for a new player to do any of that unless they go there for some reason, it's still a bit wild.

I am playing...but the guild I am in died a long time ago. I just basically play with a college buddy and our wives will occasionally play, but mostly just at the beginning of the expansions. I play delves because I finally came to terms with the fact that I cant do mythics because I dont play enough, have enough suckitude, and had to try to join random mythics groups with mostly a-holes while fighting just to get M1-3 invites because of always being behind in the curve in gear score.

We could get a group together to do keys depending on class make up. I've got a few alts that I wouldn't mind leveling as well.

My battle tag is Dragenn #1982
