Started getting warnings from YouTube asking me to disable Brave's ad blocker. I ignored it (of course). After ignoring for several days I now have to see the ads.

How can I continue blocking YouTube ads?

I primarily use my iPad…if that matters.

I've kept ignoring it and haven't seen any ads. YouTube is trying to eliminate ad blockers so I assume it's a matter of time before they just stop your video from playing until they can feed you ads.

Brave will come out with an update that blocks YouTube ads again. They keep going back and forth.

I'm still able to block them

Chrome + Privacy Badger + uBlock Origin + AdBlock works
Brave + Privacy Badger + uBlock Origin works
Firefox + Privacy Badger + uBlock Origin + AdBlocker Ultimate works

I typically do anything google related in Chrome, and everything else in Brave. I avoid anything google related in Brave, but I just checked youtube and ads are still blocked

ETA- the iPad matters. If you can install extensions you should be able to block them. If you can't install extensions, you're probably out of luck. There are alternate youtube apps available on Android but I don't think there are for ios

You're correct that the iPad part is the issue. No extensions allowed. All of the browsers are essentially reskins of each other anyways.

That said there's a ticking clock on Chromium browsers (Brave/edge/chrome) and ad blocking support so the only real solution is Firefox. Which is fine with me because it's been my browser of choice for the past decade (with a few short forays into Opera and other projects). Mozilla actually gives a **** about the open internet so I'd highly recommend people switch even if chrome still currently allows you to block ads for another week or so.

I seem to have solved the issue in my OP by installing ad block for Safari. So far no ads or warnings from YouTube. I'll post again if anything changes.

Thanks for all the input.

Looks like YouTube is really cracking down on this now.

I've got AdBlock Plus in Chrome and they've completely stopped playback until I disable.

For most of the past week in Brave I've gotten a message that I was offline but a refresh started the video. Haven't tried since Friday. Probably stop going to YouTube before I stop my ad blocker. The only thing I go there daily for is also on Spotify.

YouTube seems to be turning down the thumbscrews on ad blockers. Today every video I tried to play just jumped straight to the end of the video. Reloading or rewinding does not help.
