Anyone else having issues after today's update? Mine has crashed twice and is just not running well in combat.

Crashed while quicksaving this evening, and then wouldn't load anything without crashing. Trying to reinstall now.

It ran smooth today.

Ran across a note on Steam that they backed out the latest hotfix because of the issues some of yall were having.

It seems like after a few hours this game will bog down substantially. Anyone else experience this? Seems like a memory leak as my 8gb of vram gets topped out and it has to spill into shared overflow. My RAM usage just keeps going up as well.

I'm surprised this thread is as dormant as it is. Unless Starfield is a well-polished game straight out of the gate and lives up to the hype (which as a gamer I hope it is/does), I don't see how this isn't game of the year.

I finished the game via one of the 17,000 possible endings (with Gale as the primary player). Started back from my last save before that and am now working through to find another ending. This is definitely a game I see myself coming back to after Starfield and starting another play through with a different character.

Even playing with a friend this type of game can be boring for a lot of people.

Act 3 was really buggy. Usually having to have 4 hotfix with in a week of launch is not typically considered good. And its only out on PC right now. BG had so much good will, everyone was cool with the bugs and hot fixes and such.

For a game like starfield, if it has 4 hot fixes in the first week, it will be ripped to shreds as there are a lot of people hoping for this to fail.

I've noticed in my nerdy friend group people are crazily anti big game publishers right now ready to crap on anything that comes out.

I don't care who makes games as long as they are decent.

I've actually gotten tired of this throw back to 2D platformers that everyone and their mother seem to be making these days. Good for them; don't begrudge them but I'm a AAA title guy. Give me a big game like this to chew on for a year and I'm good. Problem is that we only get one like this about every 2-3 years, seemingly.

I mean I do get the hate because there have been a lot of bad releases but triple A companies are the only ones with the manpower that can generally make the games I enjoy. I don't care for 99% of indie games. I like a strong multiplayer presence and large community.

I think Starfield will fall short due to the hype train it has going in and a lot of people don't like Bethesda because of Fallout 76 and the usual buggy launches they have (although Starfield is seemingly more polished).

I think it'll come down to BG3 and TOTK. Zelda probably wins because Nintendo is tend to be held in high regard

Convince me why I should try this game? The last DnD game I played was Neverwinter Nights.

Neverwinter nights was barely a real game. More like a passion project that wasn't completed.

Did you play BG1 or 2?

I haven't played turn based games since Red Alert, buy the story, character personalities, and replay ability of this game are off the charts. It really should be GOTY, and I played Zelda TOTK this year (didn't finish it though).

Started Starfield last night.

BG3 is still, by far, GOTY. Starfield underwhelmed me. Good game but not what I was expecting. If you have played No Man's Sky (the new and improved versions) then space flight and exploration in Starfield feels super limited compared to that.

Larian has made some great games in this genre and it sounds like BG3 is their magnum opus. I can vouch for their games leading up to this one. They were in the vein of BG2 but obviously more advanced.

Do y'all know if BG1 and 2 (enhanced editions) have any Easy modes or cheat codes? I've beaten both before, and I kind of want to revisit but I don't want to have to work for it, so to speak. Because I've given up on dozens of runs.

TOTK and this are the only real contenders this year, imo. TOTK probably still the current favorite.

I've played all 3 and I would personally rank them

1. BG3
2. Starfield
3. TOTK

Starfield is a good game, and is getting better the more I play it. BG3 just sets the bar so high.

Starfield is going to get a lot better with mods.

The lack of vehicles on planets is such a head scratcher to me though.

Sounds like it is going to get an Xbox release sometime this Fall according to Larion Studios, but that it may only be released on the Series X to start

I'm having a good time. Limited time etc, etc but am in Act 2 and almost ready to enter the tower. A whole lot of depth to the game that I'll barely scratch.

Same issue. Barely into Act 2 and still running across brand new storylines and characters all the time. It might take me 6 months to finish a playthrough
